HDPE PIPE PRODUCTION

3.1 DESCRIPTION:

HDPE water pipes are being manufactured from original High Density Polyethylene and PE 100 and MRS=10MPa, meaning that pipe will tolerate the same stress 50 years after. Safety coefficient of pipes is 1.25.

The APF HDPE pipe ranges:

• Outside diameters: – 16mm to 500mm.

• Length: -up to 200m (depending upon customer request).

• Nominal pressures: – PN6 up to PN25 as per ISO standards

3.2 ADVANTAGES OF APF HDPE PIPES

• Absolutely non-toxic and completely inert.

• Maximum hydraulic quality due to its smooth inner lining

• Corrosion and abrasion resistance

• Chemical and electrolytic inert.

• Watertight networks.

• Insensitive to ground movement.

• High mechanical resistance.

• Resistance to hammer effect caused by water pressure.

• Limited fitting types due to its flexibility.

• Excellent flow characteristics.

• Exceptional durability and long life time above 50 years

• Easy for transport and handling

• Easy connection by welding or with couplings

• Very flexible and extremely resistant to vibration, seismic strikes and ground movements.

• UV resistant and resistant to temperatures from -30°C up to +60°C.

• Very low pressure losses since coefficient friction are 10 times less than with steel pipes.

3.3 APPLICATIONS

• Underground potable Water transport

• Supply connections.

• reclaimed water

• Sewerage

• Drainage

• Mining purposes.

• Irrigation projects

• Industrial usage

• Waste water disposal

• Chemical transports

3.4 Applicable Standards

APF produces HDPE pipes made according to the following standards:

• ISO 4427-2

• ISO 1183

• ISO 427

• Tolerances in accordance with ISO 11922-1:1997 grade V and grade T.

3.7 Coil Dimensions

The pipe shall be coiled such that localized deformation, e.g. buckling and kinking, is prevented.

• The minimum internal diameter of the coil shall be not less than 18dn. (It`s referring to ISO 2725)

• Coiling product diameter: – 16mm up to 110mm.

• Coiling Length: – 50m up to 200m (Depending upon customer request and APF standard as per diameter)
